Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about You + Me Kentucky
What is You + Me Kentucky?
You + Me Kentucky celebrates the heartbeat of Kentucky's small towns. We help locals and visitors discover the local gems, stories, events, and family-owned businesses that make each community special — and the people behind them.
How do I get my business listed?
It's free. Suggest your spot at Feature Your Spot — no account or payment needed — and we'll add a simple listing. Many Kentucky businesses are already included through public sources; if yours is missing or needs better details, just let us know.
How do businesses get richer profiles?
We enrich profiles from public sources, business websites, and approved suggestions. The goal is accurate local discovery, not paid placement in the public directory.
How do you decide what's a 'local gem'?
We prioritize locally-owned, independent businesses over national chains. Our local gem scoring considers factors like community engagement, uniqueness, and user signals. Chains are shown separately so local businesses get the spotlight they deserve.
Can I upgrade my listing with photos and my story?
Yes. Every business can have a free simple listing. Local gems can be upgraded with photos, full details, and their story so visitors get the whole picture of what makes the place special. Reach out at youmekentucky@gmail.com to learn more.
Do you work with chambers of commerce and tourism boards?
Yes. Through our Community Spotlight Partnerships we help tell the story of your town online — featured town pages, local business highlights, event promotion, and tourism itineraries. It's a statewide movement to celebrate and sustain local communities, not another advertising company.
Is my town included?
Yes! We include every incorporated town, city, and Census-designated place in Kentucky. If you can't find your town, it may be listed under a slightly different name. Use our search feature or contact us for help.
How can I support You + Me Kentucky?
The best way is to use the site, share it, and suggest Kentucky places we should celebrate. Chambers and tourism boards can also explore a Community Spotlight Partnership with us.
Do you have a mobile app?
Not yet, but our website is fully mobile-friendly. We're also building QR code-based experiences that let you discover local gems as you explore Kentucky towns in person.
How do I contact you?
You can reach us at youmekentucky@gmail.com. We're based in Campbellsville, Kentucky and love hearing from locals, business owners, and fellow Kentucky enthusiasts.
